In one short day, we went from Portland, Maine to Boston for a 5.5 hour over night flight into Gatwick airport, landing a 8am. We both only got brief, restless sleep on the packed plane but we trudged into London and got to see many the famous sights.
Greenwich observatory sits atop a beautiful hill with meticulously planted, million year old, Oak trees and a view of the city like none other. We found our way through the Naval College along the Thames River, Tower Bridge and saw some cool ships.
The Parliament Building and Big Ben where covered in scaffolding, bummer. But there was all kinds of action going on in the street with a critical Brixt vote happened in parliament today. It was fun watching the crowds of people chant for there cause.
Our accommodation for the night are modest. Housed is an apartment complex right outside of Kings Cross, the rooms are neat, the door latch is questionable and I think breakfast will be lackluster but nonetheless we are happy with our beds and ready for a solid night sleep!

All of the pre-trip jitters and excitement is in full force! My bags are packed and weighed. I prepared a couple of gluten-free meals and the perfect size plane blanket. I’ve been searching the web for exciting adventures while we are over there. I can’t wait to board the plane and start the adventure!

Lydia and I rode the beautiful Frazier Trails in Gorham, Maine. The weather, conditions and company were perfect! We rode 4 miles on the snow through forests, up and down hills along a the banks of Gully Brook and over wooden bridges.

A first and second floor maisonette in a converted town house, situated in a quiet location yet only 100 yards from Keswick town centre. Sweetpool was renovated and refurbished with very good quality, stylish furnishings and a very well equipped kitchen. The apartment has a lovely light and airy feel and fell views from most rooms. and the owners provide a good selection of books, DVDs, games and Wi-Fi internet access for guests to use while they are in the property.
